Acting for Young Artists | Age Range: 13+

This acting class will help young actors get out of their heads and into their impulses. Using a mixture of improvisation, physical theatre, voice techniques and traditional scene study, students will gain greater access to their impulses and instincts, enabling them to make bold and interesting choices with minimal preparation. We will work primarily with script in hand, which means almost no time needs to be spent memorizing or rehearsing outside the classroom. This better prepares the students for cold read scenarios, and it also works against some of the bad habits that develop from over-preparation. This style of teaching leads to incredible breakthroughs, helping students become not only better actors, but better human beings, all through the process of radical self acceptance and expression.
