Audience Covid Safety Policy for PIPPIN

ARGENTA COMMUNITY THEATER

AUDIENCE COVID SAFETY POLICY

FOR PERFORMANCES OF PIPPIN, AUGUST 18-28, 2021

Dear ACT Audiences,

The Argenta Community Theater continues to be committed to the safety of our patrons, performers and staff. We have all gone through a difficult period and we must continue to be community minded while Arkansas endures yet another difficult period. No one wants to return to a shutdown and we must all do our part to prevent that from happening. We encourage those in our community who have not been vaccinated to do so.
Argenta Community Theater will require PROOF OF VACCINATION for audience members attending performances of PIPPIN (August 18-28).  Per the latest guidance form the CDC, we also encourage all those who are vaccinated to wear masks when inside the theater, unless actively eating or drinking. Masks will be available free of charge at all performances.
(SINCE OUR GRAND OPENING DINNER IS OUTDOORS ON AUGUST 17TH, PROOF OF VACCINATION WILL NOT BE REQUIRED, BUT MASKS WILL, UNTIL YOU ARE SEATED WITH YOUR GROUP)
Those who have a medical or religious exemption will be required to wear a mask for the duration of your visit to Argenta Community Theater.
The performing arts are an important part of our community, not any different from seeing a movie, a concert or a sports game. Let's all do all we can to bring an end to this pandemic!
Helpful Notes:
*Valid proof of vaccination includes an original vaccination card, a digital copy, or a photograph of one's Covid-19 vaccination record. Lost cards can be easily replaced wherever one received their vaccination or by calling the Arkansas Department of Health at 501-661-2000.
*ACT will have masks available free of charge. Hand Sanititzer is available throughout the theater. ACT's facility is cleaned and sanitized before and after each performance.
*ACT actors, crew and staff are fully vaccinated.
*The restrooms are cleaned and sanitized before and after every performance.
*We encourage you to stay at home if you are feeling unwell or have had a known exposure to person who has tested positive for COVID-19.
*In the 18 months since our last in-person performance at Argenta Community Theater, we have repeatedly been reminded of the need for the shared experience of the performing arts. In order to provide that experience in the safest possible way, we feel that these restrictions are necessary and prudent. If any current ticket holder does not wish to comply with these requests, we will gladly refund your ticket purchase. Email info@argentacommunitytheater.org to make changes to your reservation.
*This policy will be revisited for future performances and announcements will be made as needed.
*Performances of STEEL MAGNOLIAS will follow a similar policy, as stated by show producers ACANSA Arts Festival of the South.

We appreciate your cooperation as we work to re-open the theater as safely as possible.

Sincerely,

The Argenta Community Theater Board of Directors

ACTing UP, In the House

Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to the 2020 VIRTUAL edition of ACTing Up, ACTing Up In the House! While we wish that we could all be together as we have in previous years, we are excited to share a fun, educational and interactive performing arts experience with you from our homes to yours! Please bookmark this page for easy access, as it is not available to the public via our main website. You can also reach this page again through the link in your orientation email.

This year's camp will run a little differently, so this page will help to answer any questions you might have to get started.

The majority of your classes will be held via ZOOM video conferencing with your instructors. Links below will give each age group access to the meeting links for your class. We will also send this information to you via the email you used at registration. Please be sure that you have downloaded the ZOOM app to your phone or computer so that you may easily join us on Monday, July 6th!

The schedule for each day is as follows:

Session 1: 9:00am-9:45 am

Session 2: 9:55-10:40am

Lunch/Snack Break: 10:40-11:10 (Recharge for your final two sessions!)

Session 3: 11:10-11:55

Session 4: 12:05-12:50

Students will be divided into four classes. Each class has a dedicated page, linked below, where you will find each of your Zoom sessions and any other information or materials you might need for your daily work. These pages are password protected so that only students who have registered for class can access them. The password for all pages is: actingup2020

Technical Details

Classes will be conducted through Zoom video conferencing. Students will need access to a computer, laptop or tablet with camera, microphone and internet capabilities for each session. Students may choose to use headphones while participating in their sessions. If you have not used Zoom video conferencing before, we encourage you to download the platform HERE. It will also download automatically when you join your first call, but good to do in advance so you can test your compatibility.
Test Zoom if you haven't used it yet.

We recommend using a Laptop computer, Desktop or Tablet. It can be done on a phone, but this is less ideal for a group meeting. You should not need an outside microphone if using a computer. Have headphones nearby in case you are in an area with background noise.
Don't forget to arrive a few minutes EARLY to get checked in to each session (just as you would to an in person class!), so that the class can begin right on time.
In addition to a primary computer, laptop or tablet for participation in classes, students may also need access to a second device (phone, tablet, etc) for playing back accompanying music during vocal classes, or recording themselves for some assignments.
Other Details
For this virtual camp please note:
  • Wear clothes you can comfortably move in, as well as sneakers, or jazz shoes and socks. Avoid wearing open-toe shoes for any movement based activities.
  • For dance or movement based classes, a hard floor is ideal. Carpet can work -- just make sure you feel safe moving on the surface you are using.
  • Make sure you have enough SPACE around you to move comfortably. You want to feel as free and unencumbered in the space as possible. Do what you can to create a "studio" atmosphere at home. Consider what furniture can be pushed aside to give you the best possible active working space. Put thought into this in advance and get creative!
  • If you can set the laptop on a counter, table, desk or surface at waist-level or higher, that would be ideal. It can be done on the floor if needed, but is not ideal for being able to see you in all classes. Again, get creative with where your computer can be to allow you to see and be seen!
  • If you have injuries or physical limitations, please let us know in advance via the Chat feature (again, please show up early to do so!).
  • Any necessary links, scripts, music or materials will be shared with you via your individual class links, and will be updated throughout the camp.
